Special Vehicle Multifunction Control Unit (SVMCU (MSS)), Component Description - GF54.21-P-4010GR
MODEL 166 with CODE Z17 (Heated windscreen)
MODEL 166 with CODE Z22 (Panic alarm system)
Location
The special vehicle multifunction control unit (MSS) is located under the driver seat.
Task
The special vehicle multifunction control unit (SVMCU [MSS]) has the following tasks:
- Reading in of sensors and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Output of signals
Reading in of sensors and signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN (CAN B)
Direct line
With CODE Z22 (Panic alarm system (PAS)), the signals of the following components are read in via direct lines:
- Vehicle interior PAS [GAS] microphone (B25/3)
- Control unit (N26/8)
- Left footwell emergency alarm system button (S62/16)
- Right footwell emergency alarm system button (S62/17)
- Rear air vent emergency alarm system button (S62/18)
Interior CAN
With CODE Z22 (Panic alarm system (PAS)), the following signals are read in via the interior CAN, among other things:
- Central locking status
- Exterior lights status
With CODE Z17 (Heated windshield), the following signals are read in via the interior CAN, among other things:
- Outside temperature
- Engine speed
- Request "Defrosting ON"
The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor whereupon the relevant signals are then issued.
Output of signals
The signals are output via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN
Direct line
With CODE Z22 (Panic alarm system (PAS)), the PAS control unit is actuated via a direct line.
With CODE Z17 (Heated windshield), the heated windshield relay (K13/2) is actuated via a direct line.
Interior CAN
With CODE Z22 (Panic alarm system (PAS)), the following signals are transmitted via the interior CAN, among other things:
- Static low beam request (with CODE 615 (Bi-xenon headlamps with active curve lights) or CODE 621 (Intelligent Light System (left-hand traffic)) or CODE 622 (Intelligent Light System))
- High beam request flashing on and off
- Alarm request flashing on and off
- CL closing request
- Request for switching on "recirculated air"
The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
