Remove/install airbag unit on steering wheel - AR91.60-P-0660GW

MODEL 463 as of model year 2013

DANGER Risk of injury  during testing and repair operations related to pyrotechnical components Do not expose pyrotechnical components to temperatures above 100 °C or 212°F.
Disconnect current supply when working on such components.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Fully extend steering wheel    
2 Detach ground line from battery   AR54.10-P-0003GW
3 Use suitable tool to push springs (1) inwards INSTALLING
The springs (1) must latch audibly into place in the driver airbag (2).
Otherwise, the airbag may work loose from the steering wheel.
 
4 Lift driver airbag (2) off steering wheel    
5 Release and disconnect electrical connection (3)    
6 Remove driver airbag (2)    
7 Install in the reverse order    
INSPECT Check     
8 Check and erase vehicle fault memory using the diagnostic system When replacing the driver airbag (2).
