  Draining     
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by welding or soldering work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by contact with liquid refrigerant. Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been drained. AS83.00-Z-0001-01A
IMPORTANT Notes on handling refrigerant R134a   AH83.30-N-0003-01A
IMPORTANT Protect air conditioning circuit and components from moisture when carrying out repair work   AH83.30-P-0005-01GW
IMPORTANT Procedure for a damaged or leaky air conditioning system   AH83.30-N-0004-01A
1 Remove protective caps on Schrader valves of high pressure line (1) and suction line (2)    
2 Connect filling equipment    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 04 82 00 Air conditioning service unit   WS83.00-P-0031B 
    IMPORTANT Connect charging equipment using blue connector to the Schrader valve of the suction line (2) and connect with the red connector to the Schrader valve of the high pressure line (1).  
3 Drain air conditioning system    
4 Drain separated compressor oil from filling equipment and determine the exact quantity IMPORTANT The drained quantity must be replaced with new compressor oil when refilling.  
  Evacuate     
5 Clean and evacuate air conditioning system    
  Filling     
6 Top up compressor oil IMPORTANT Drained quantity must be replaced with fresh compressor oil.
IMPORTANT Additional fluid quantities when replacing parts of the refrigerant circuit:		  
    FLUID SPECIFICATION Refill quantity of compressor oil when replacing condenser Total filling capacity - compressor oil for new system (in refrigerant compressor) *BF83.30-P-1002-01A 
    FLUID SPECIFICATION Refill quantity of compressor oil when replacing condenser *BF83.30-P-1003-01A 
    FLUID SPECIFICATION Refill quantity of compressor oil when replacing a coolant line. Refill quantity of compressor oil when replacing fluid reservoir *BF83.30-P-1004-01A 
    FLUID SPECIFICATION Refill quantity of compressor oil when replacing a coolant line. Refill quantity of compressor oil when replacing a coolant line *BF83.30-P-1005-01A 
    FLUID SPECIFICATION Refill quantity of compressor oil when air conditioning system is suddenly emptied (line break) Refill quantity of compressor oil when air conditioning system is suddenly emptied (line break) *BF83.30-P-1006-01A 
7 Charge air conditioning system FLUID SPECIFICATION Filling capacity of refrigerant *BF83.30-P-1001-01A 
INSPECT Check     
8 Check air conditioning system for leaks with leak detector    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 10 21 00 Leak tester   WS83.00-P-0008B 
9 Check air conditioning for proper operation IMPORTANT Run engine at idling speed for about 4 minutes and check all the component functions of relevance for proper operation of the air conditioning system.
