Check warning lamps, indicator lamps and interior illumination - AP54.30-P-5452G

MODEL 463.202/236/237/346 as of model year 2012

INSPECT Check     
1 Switch on ignition and check preglow indicator lamp (4) If installed.
IMPORTANT The preglow indicator lamp (4) must light up to match the coolant temperature and then go out.
If there are problems:
↓
Determine and rectify cause, subject to separate repair order.
 
2 Operate parking brake IMPORTANT The parking brake indicator lamp (1) must light up.
If there are problems:
↓
Determine and rectify cause, subject to separate repair order.
 
3 Check coolant temperature gauge (7) and coolant temperature warning lamp (6) IMPORTANT The pointer of the coolant temperature gauge (7) must indicate the coolant temperature accordingly and the coolant temperature warning lamp (6) must light up.
If there are problems:

Determine and rectify cause, subject to separate repair order.
 
4 Check warning lamp tire pressure monitor (8) If installed.
IMPORTANT The tire pressure monitor warning lamp (8) must light up.
If there are problems:
↓
Determine and rectify cause, subject to separate repair order.
 
5 Check fuel level indicator (12) IMPORTANT The pointer of the fuel level indicator (12) must display the fuel level in the fuel tank accordingly.
If there are problems:
↓
Determine and rectify cause, subject to separate repair order.
 
6 Manually switch on the exterior lights    
7 Check instrument illumination IMPORTANT All pointer instruments (5, 7, 12, 13) must be illuminated and if displays are fitted (2, 3, 9, 10, 11) the background illumination must be activated.
If there are problems:

Determine and rectify cause, subject to separate repair order.
 
8 Check brightness setting on instrument illumination by turning instrument illumination brightness control (14) IMPORTANT The instrument illumination must be brighter or darker to match.
If there are problems:
↓
Determine and rectify cause, subject to separate repair order.
 
9 Check displays (2, 3, 9, 10, 11) for visible pixel errors If the displays (2, 3, 9, 10, 11) exhibit vertical strips, missing segments or black dots:
↓
Determine and rectify cause, subject to separate repair order.
 
10 Manually switch off exterior lights    
11 Switch on lamps in passenger compartment and check for proper operation IMPORTANT Check inside rearview mirror, reading, mirror and glove compartment lamps.
If there are problems:
↓
Determine and rectify cause, subject to separate repair order.
 
12 Switch off lamps in passenger compartment and ignition
