INSPECT Check     
DANGER Risk of explosion  from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

1 Remove stop plugs from battery cells On batteries without marking for minimum, maximum fluid level (arrow).
IMPORTANT Except with maintenance free battery.
 
2 Check fluid level of battery; correct if necessary IMPORTANT Except with maintenance free battery.
IMPORTANT If fluid level is not visible from outside, remove battery cell stop plugs, check level, and replace the plugs.
IMPORTANT Fluid must be approx. 12 to 15 mm above plates or up to visible "MAX" mark.
