The following handling notes must be observed for all repair work which requires optical fiber couplings to be disconnected.
The transmitted light pulses will otherwise be dampened and the quality of data transfer impaired.
- For repair work, the covers of the optical fibers at the device connection or at the connector of the optical wiring harness must not be prematurely detached.
- Separated fiber optic cable couplings must be immediately covered.
- Do not kink the optical fibers, route over sharp edges or in radii smaller than 25 mm.
- Do not expose optical fibers to temperatures higher than 85 °C or lower than -40 °C.
The covers of the optical fibers at the device connection or at the connector of the optical wiring harness cannot be separately acquired. The covers of the installed replacement parts or a dry rag can be used.
