Remove/install Bluetooth antenna - AR82.62-P-8980EL

MODEL 218 as of model year 2015

NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove instrument cluster   AR54.30-P-6015EL
2 Unclip Bluetooth antenna (3) through side opening (arrow) SPECIAL TOOL Clip remover Fig 3
3 Cut off old electrical wiring harness (2.1) at Bluetooth antenna (3) and remove Bluetooth antenna (3) IMPORTANT New Bluetooth antenna (3) must be installed. The old electrical wiring harness (2.1) remains in the vehicle.  
4 Remove COMAND controller unit (4) or radio and put down carefully onto center console (5) with lines attached   AR82.60-P-7502EW 
5 Remove connector of old electrical wiring harness (2.1) from COMAND controller unit (4) or radio and cut off IMPORTANT Compare connector of old electrical wiring harness (2.1) with new part.  
INSTALLING Install     
6 Clip new Bluetooth antenna (3) to crossmember (6)    
7 Route new electrical wiring harness (2.2) as shown IMPORTANT Route new electrical wiring harness (2.2) behind reinforcement (7) of instrument panel (1).  
8 Attach connector of new electrical wiring harness (2.2) to COMAND controller unit (4) or radio    
9 Form loop of extended length of new electrical wiring harness (2.2) in vicinity of reinforcement (7) and fasten with cable ties IMPORTANT Fit so that chafing will not occur.  
10 Install COMAND controller unit (4) or radio   AR82.60-P-7502EW 
11 Install instrument cluster   AR54.30-P-6015EL
