Remove/install front glass cover - AR77.21-P-7010NKA

MODEL 117, 156, 176 with CODE 413 (Automatic panoramic sliding sunroof)

  Preparation     
1 Prepare adhesive cartridge   AR67.10-P-1000-12SX

2 Remove left and right drip rail (2) Model 117, 176
with code 413 (Automatic panoramic sliding sunroof)

except code 720 (Roof railing)
except code 725 (Roof rails, electropolished aluminum)

3 Determine gap dimension (A) between front glass cover (1) and windshield (4) and note SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge Figure
4 Determine gap dimension (A) between front glass cover (1) and front glass roof (3) and note SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge Figure
5 Completely open glass roof (3)    
6.1 Protect left and right paint surfaces on front glass cover (1) against damage Model 117, 176
with code 413 (Automatic panoramic sliding sunroof)

IMPORTANT To protect paint surfaces when cutting out front glass cover (1).

6.2 Mask left and right next roof railing next to front glass cover (1) with solid adhesive tape Model 156

IMPORTANT To protect roof railing when cutting out front glass cover (1).
 
DANGER Risk of injury  from cutting wire tearing or becoming hot and from splinters of glass when cutting out bonded windows Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. AS67.00-Z-0004-01A
7 Cut out front glass cover (1) with cutting wire and remove from panoramic sliding roof frame NOTES

with code 725 (Roof rails, electropolished aluminum)
Carefully insert cutting wire in area of roof railing.
Otherwise the roof railing can be damaged.
IMPORTANT Helper required.
IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools  Glass removal
 
INSTALLING Install     
8 Prepare front glass cover (1) for glazing   AR77.21-P-7010-03NKA
NOTES
Do not touch bonding surfaces on inside of front glass cover (1) with bare fingers. They must be free of dust, oil, wax, dirt residues and other adhesive components.
Otherwise the strength of the bonded connections can be decreased.
IMPORTANT Observe processing notes for primer. Flash-off time at least 10 minutes.
IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools  Cup suction tool/shackle (for removing and installing windows)
 
Adhesive parts kit (with heptane cleaner) *BR00.45-Z-1142-02A 
9 Prepare panoramic sliding roof frame for installing front glass cover (1)   AR77.21-P-7010-02NKA
NOTES
Do not touch present adhesive beads and bonding surfaces on panoramic sliding roof frame with bare fingers and they should be free of dust, oil, grease, wax and other adhesive components or dirt residues.
Otherwise the strength of the bonded connections can be decreased.
IMPORTANT Observe processing notes for primer. Flash-off time at least 10 minutes.
 
Adhesive parts kit (with heptane cleaner) *BR00.45-Z-1142-02A 
10 Apply adhesive material to front glass cover (1)   AR77.21-P-7010-04NKA
NOTES
Do not touch bonding surfaces on inside of front glass cover (1) with bare fingers. They must be free of dust, oil, wax, dirt residues and other adhesive components.
Otherwise the strength of the bonded connections can be decreased.
IMPORTANT Observe processing notes for primer. Flash-off time at least 10 minutes.

11 Close glass roof (3)    
12 Glaze front glass cover (1)   AR77.21-P-7010-05CW
NOTES
Insert front glass cover (1) within 5 minutes after applying adhesive to body and align. Otherwise the adhesive force of the adhesive material may be decreased.
NOTES
Use weights with large surfaces such as sandbags to put load on front glass cover (1). Otherwise the front glass cover (1) can be damaged.
IMPORTANT Observe gap dimensions (A, B) and transitions (C). The front glass cover (1) must be flush on the left and right with the glass roof (3).
IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools  Cup suction tool/shackle (for removing and installing windows)

SPECIAL TOOL Remove feeler gauges only after adhesive material has cured.
Otherwise the gap dimensions (A, B) and transitions (C) can change.

15 Remove adhesive tape from paint surfaces
