| 2 | Clamp front axle shaft (1) in vise | ||
| 3 | Detach clamp (9a) | ||
| 4 | Detach clamp (9b) | ||
| 5 | Cut open boot (9) and remove | ||
| 6 | Mark ball joint (10) relative to front axle shaft (1) | Before dismantling the ball joint (10) all parts must be marked relative to each other. A different assignment during assembly can lead to noise and increased wear. |

| 7 | Release vise | ||
| 8 | Pry out front axle shaft (1) out of ball joint (10) using drift (3) | Fig 3 | |
| 9 | Remove retaining ring (1b) | ||
| 10 | Clean ball joint (10) | In case of water entry or soiling: ↓ Mark ball joint (10), constant velocity joint hub (10a) and cage (10b) relative to each other and disassemble. |

| 11 | Clamp front axle shaft (1) in vise | ||
| 12 | Detach clamp (2) | ||
| 13 | Detach clamp (4b) | ||
| 14 | Cut open boot (4a) and remove | ||
| 15 | Drive out ball joint (8) at constant velocity joint hub (8a) from front axle shaft (1) | ||
| 16 | Remove retaining ring (1a) | ||
| Clean | |||
| 17 | Clean ball joint (8) and drive shaft (1) | In case of water entry or soiling: ↓ Mark ball joint (8), constant velocity joint hub (8a) and cage (8b) relative to each other and disassemble. |

| Install | |||
| 18 | Assemble ball joint (8) If ball joint (8) had been disassembled for cleaning. |

| 19 | Slide clamp (2) onto front axle shaft (1) | ||
| 20 | Slide boot (4a) with clamp (4b) onto front axle shaft (1) | ||
| 21 | Fit retaining ring (1a) | ||
| 22 | Fill ball joint (8) half-full with grease | ||
| 23 | Slide ball joint (8) onto front axle shaft (1) | ||
| 24 | Fill ball joint (8) with remaining grease | ||
| 25 | Slide boot (4a) with clamp (4b) onto ball joint (8) | ||
| 26 | Position raised bead of boot (4a) in the radial groove of ball joint (8) | ||
| 27 | Fasten clamp (4b) using clamp pliers | Dimension "X" must be ≤2.5 mm. Otherwise the boot (4a) can get leaky. |

| 28 | Align boot (4a) with front axle shaft (1) | ||
| 29 | Position the raised bead of the boot (4a) in the radial groove of the front axle shaft (1) | ||
| 30 | Ventilate ball joint (8) by slightly lifting the raised bead | Do not damage raised bead and radial groove. Leaks can occur on the ball joint (8) otherwise. |

| 31 | Fasten clamp (2) using clamp pliers | Dimension "X" must be ≤2.5 mm. Otherwise the boot (4a) can get leaky. |

| 32 | Assemble ball joint (10) | If ball joint (10) had been disassembled for cleaning. |

| 33 | Slide clamp (9a) onto front axle shaft (1) | ||
| 34 | Slide new boot (9) with clamp (9b) onto front axle shaft (1) | ||
| 35 | Fit retaining ring (1b) | ||
| 36 | Fill ball joint (10) with grease up to upper edge of constant velocity joint hub (10a) | ||
| 37 | Slide ball joint (10) onto front axle shaft (1) | ||
| 38 | Fill boot (9) and ball joint (10) with rest of grease | ||
| 39 | Slide boot (9) with clamp (9b) onto ball joint (10) | ||
| 40 | Position the raised bead of the boot (9) in the center groove of the front axle shaft (1) and in the groove on the ball joint (10) | ||
| 41 | Fasten clamp (9a) | Dimension "X" must be ≤2.5 mm. Otherwise the boot (9) can get leaky. |
|
| 42 | Fasten clamp (9b) | Dimension "X" must be ≤2.5 mm. Otherwise the boot (9) can get leaky. |
|
| 43 | Remove front axle shaft (1) from vise | ||
| 44 | Install front axle shaft (1) | AR33.30-P-0620NKB |
