Repair wiring harness with line cross-section of 0.13 mm using axial solder connector - AR00.19-P-0100-12A

  1. Expose damaged line or plug/coupling in an easily accessible position and cut off.

    IMPORTANT Separate strands in wiring harness offset by approximately 45 mm (a) as shown.

  2. Cut new section of cable to match old cable.
  3. Strip 15 mm of insulation from ends of the line as shown with SPECIAL TOOL wire stripper.

    NOTES Lines may only be stripped with the SPECIAL TOOL wire stripper.

    Otherwise, system failures or malfunctions could occur.

  4. Select axial solder connector by means of cable cross-section.
  5. Push the axial solder connector on line beyond the solder point.

    IMPORTANT Push on the thinner side of the axial solder connector first.

  6. Twist the line ends together.
  7. Push back the axial solder connector on the transposition while turning.

  8. Heat up axial solder connector with a preheated hot air blower (with electronic temperature control) to 400 °C.

    NOTES Use welding pearl catcher in vehicle interior.

    Otherwise, damage could be caused by liquid soldering material.

  9. Check soldered point.

    IMPORTANT It must not be possible to see the soldering ring of the axial soldered connector any more. The covering must be flush with the lines.

  10. Apply axial solder connector to the lines and wrap repaired area with duct tape.

    IMPORTANT The axial solder connectors must not lie directly above one another.
