Location 

The front SAM control unit is located in the left of the engine compartment.

Task 

The front SAM control unit is connected to the interior CAN, chassis CAN, the front end CAN and the diagnostic CAN for the exchange of data.

Limit switches supply systems and control units with voltage to match the function sequence. Requests are conveyed to the front SAM control unit via the CAN, instrument panel LIN, the wiper/inside rearview mirror LIN or via read-in switches and sensors.

The individual components are protected via fuses contained in the fuse and relay block.
