Installation notes for crankshaft radial shaft seals - AH03.20-P-0001-01AO

ENGINE 120 

IMPORTANT Insertion tool

Use assembly sleeve 117 589 00 43 00 only (2nd version) with bore for locating pin.

Assembly sleeve 117 589 00 43 00 (1st version) can be modified by drilling to dimensions "A, B, C" to match the drawing.

Dimension A =38 mm

B = 15.6 mm

C = 10 mm

IMPORTANT The end cover routes the engine oil from the main oil duct (arrow) to the two oil ducts for the cylinder head oil supply, and it is sealed off with a seal.

The lower edge of the end cover is sensitive to distortion (oil leak). This is why the radial sealing ring on the end cover fitted to the cylinder crankcase should only be replaced using insertion tool 117 589 00 43 00. If leaks occur at the rear, prop up the engine, allow it to drain and locate the leak
