	Remove/install
1	Detach ground lines from batteries		AR54.10-P-0003SX
2	Remove radiator grille from bumper	Model 216 First install radiator paneling in bumper.
3	Remove upper radiator crossmember	See Completely replace front end with reinforcement. For vehicles with code 219 Distronic (DTR) or code 233 Distronic Plus: ↓	AR62.30-P-1570SX
3	Remove upper radiator crossmember	Check/adjust sensor setting of Distronic.	AR30.30-P-1000R
4	Detach expansion reservoir for coolant and lay to the side with attached coolant lines		AR20.30-P-4950SX
5	Remove fan shroud		AR20.40-P-6800SZ
6	Mount guard plate on radiator
	Radiator guard plate/condenser		WF58.50-P-0110-01A
7	Remove poly-V belt		AR13.20-P-0001SZ
8	Remove air pump		AR14.30-P-7251SZ
9	Remove bolts (3) and air pump bracket (4)		*BA14.30-P-1003-01B
10	Remove bolts (15) and bracket (19) from cylinder head cover (18) and connecting pipe (16)		*BA09.41-P-1007-01G
10			*BA09.41-P-1008-01G
11	Remove retaining clamp (13) for electrical line (14) on alternator (G2)
12	Detach cap (1), unscrew nut (2) and remove electrical line 30 (B+) from alternator (G2)		*BA15.40-P-1001-01I
13	Unlock electrical line connector for circuit 61 (D+) at alternator (G2) and detach
14	Remove retaining clamps (11, 12)		*BA18.30-P-1014-01B
15	Detach front engine mount		AR22.10-P-1260SZ
16	Lift engine using a load regulator	Pay attention when lifting out engine that no cables and lines are damaged and that engine does not lean against the bulkhead.
17	Remove bolts (8, 9) and detach bolts (10)		*BA15.40-P-1012-01I
18	Remove bolts (5) and bracket (6)		*BA15.40-P-1013-01I
19	Take alternator (G2) down and out
20	Install in the reverse order
