	Remove/install
	Risk of injury  caused by fingers being pinched or crushed  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lids, liftgates or sliding roof	Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts.	AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1	Switch off ignition
2	Remove left engine cover (2)
3	Remove engine air intake duct (4) on left air filter housing
4	Remove poly-V belt		AR13.20-P-0001MMB
5	Remove upper charge air duct on the left (1l)		AR09.41-P-8620MMB
6	Disconnect electrical connector on two-disk thermostat heating element (R48)
7	Drain coolant at radiator		AR20.00-P-1142MM
	Notes on coolant		AH20.00-N-2080-01A
8	Remove coolant hose on coolant thermostat housing (1)		AR09.41-P-1311-01AL
9	Remove screw/bolt (5) on oil filter housing		*BA20.10-P-1005-01W
10	Remove screw/bolts (3) for coolant thermostat housing (1) on coolant pump		*BA20.10-P-1002-01W
11	Remove coolant thermostat housing (1)	The coolant thermostat must not be taken out of the coolant thermostat housing (1) as it can get damaged in the process. Install new O-ring and seal.
12	Install in the reverse order
	Checking
	Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running	Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
13	Perform engine test run and check engine for leaks
