Opening Engine Hood, Moving To Upright Position And Closing - AR88.40-P-1000GQ

  Open     
  Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1 Pull lever (2) to unlock engine hood (1)    
2 Press locking lever (3) upward and open engine hood (1)    
  Move to upright position     
3 Push engine hood (1) in center (arrow) beyond dead center position of engine hood hinges upward to position upright IMPORTANT The engine hood (1) is moved and held in the vertical position by the spring force of the gas pressure struts.  
  Close    
4 Press down engine hood (1) in center (arrow) and lock    
INSPECT Check     
5 Ensure that engine hood locks (1) properly
