	Remove/install
	Risk of injury  caused by fingers being pinched or crushed  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lids, liftgates or sliding roof	Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts.	AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1	Remove upper engine cover
2	Remove RH engine compartment partition wall
3	Remove right air filter housing
4	Remove insulation on right rail
5	Remove wiring harness from crash plate and remove crash plate	See "Remove high-pressure pump".	AR07.02-P-1020MLJ
6	Remove insulation from high-pressure pumps	See "Remove high-pressure pump".	AR07.02-P-1020MLJ
7	Detach crankcase ventilation pipe (2) on cylinder head cover	Just the two bolts need removing on the cylinder head covers. The connection to the charge air duct and charge air cooler does not need to be released.
8	Raise vehicle		AR00.60-P-1000GZ
9	Remove rear and center section of lower engine compartment paneling	MODEL 166.0	AR61.30-P-1001GQ
10	Detach vacuum line (1) on intake manifold
11	Remove screw/bolts (3) on centrifuge cover (1) from below		*BA01.20-P-1001-01L
12	Remove screw/bolts (4) on centrifuge cover (1) from below		*BA01.20-P-1001-01L
13	Pull centrifuge cover (1) upwards
14	Remove screw/bolt for centrifuge at the camshaft		*BA01.20-P-1002-01L
15	Remove centrifuge from camshaft	The dowel pins determine the installation position of the centrifuge at the camshaft.
	Checking
16	Check seal and radial shaft sealing ring for wear and damage; replace centrifuge cover (1) if necessary
17	Check centrifuge for wear and damage; replace centrifuge if necessary
18	Install in the reverse order
19	Check engine oil level; correct if necessary		AP18.00-P-0101GQ
	Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running	Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
20	Conduct engine test run and check engine for leaks while it is running
