Inspect condition of brake disks - AP42.10-P-4258BP

REMOVING Removing     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by handling hot or glowing objects. Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
1 Lift/jack up vehicle    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Lift/jack up vehicle   AR00.60-P-1000P
2 Remove wheels   AP40.10-P-4050Z
INSPECT Checking     
3 Check brake disks (61) at front and rear axle IMPORTANT Inspect for scores and cracks. Hairline cracks can occur due to high stress.
IMPORTANT Brake disks (61) do not have to be replaced when the crack length (1) is a maximum of 25 mm.
With perforated brake disks (61) measure the crack length (1) inclusive of bore diameter.
In the event of gaping cracks and scores deeper than 0.5 mm replace brake disks (61):

REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   Remove/install brake disc. AR42.10-P-0220P
MEASURING Measure     
4 Measure thickness of brake discs on front and rear axles using caliper gauge (SPECIAL TOOL 035) IMPORTANT Observe wear limits of brake disks (61) so that these are not dropped below up to the next maintenance service, if necessary:
