Remove/install left front or right rpm sensor - AR42.30-P-0712CW

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Switch off ignition    
2 Remove left or right wheel and tire assembly    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE MODEL 172 AP40.10-P-4050V
REFER TO MAINTENANCE MODEL 204 AP40.10-P-4050CW
3.1 Detach fender liner (1) on rear area of fender far enough to gain access to the electrical connection (2) MODEL 172  
AR88.10-P-1300W
3.2 Remove rear section from fender liner (1) in fender MODEL 204  
4 Disconnect electrical connector (2) MODEL 172 AR33.10-P-0100-06V
MODEL 204 AR33.10-P-0100-06CW
5 Unclip electrical line of left front axle rpm sensor (L6/1) or right front axle rpm sensor (L6/2) from line bracket (3) IMPORTANT Pay attention to installation of lines.  
6 Remove cable tie (4) from suspension strut (5) MODEL 204 (except 204.9) with ENGINE 271, 272, 274, 276, 642, 651
IMPORTANT Pay attention to installation position.
 
SPECIAL TOOL Pliers Fig 2
7 Remove bolt (6) and pull left front axle rpm sensor (L6/1) or right front axle rpm sensor (L6/2) out of steering knuckle (7) INSTALLATION NOTES
MODEL 172, 204 (except 204.9)
Replace seal on left front axle rpm sensor (L6/1) or right front axle rpm sensor (L6/2). Otherwise, water can enter and damage the wheel bearing.
 
8 Install in the reverse order    
9 Connect diagnostic system and read out fault memory
