| 4 | Disconnect rear bumper PARKTRONIC electrical connector (X35/28) and guide through opening in rear center section with electric wiring harness | On vehicles with code (220) Parktronic system (PTS) | |
| Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. | Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. | AS00.00-Z-0010-01A | |
| 5 | Lift vehicle on lifting platform. | ||
| 6 | Remove bolts (4) | ||
| 7 | Remove bolts (5) | ||
| 8 | Remove expansion clip (6) from rear fender paneling (7) on left and right. | ||
| 9 | Loosen left and right rear fender paneling (7) until bolt (8) is accessible | ||
| 10 | Unscrew bolts (8) on left and right | ||
| 11 | Remove expansion clip (9) on left and right | ||
| 12 | Carefully unclip bumper (1) at side and toward rear starting at rear fender and remove bumper (1) with aid of helper. | ||
| 13 | Install in the reverse order |
