Remove/install rear spring - AR32.20-P-0230GW

MODEL 463 as of model year 2013/facelift 2012 

Illustrated on right side of vehicle

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury  caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A
NOTES Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   AH00.00-N-0001-01A
NOTES Notes on repairs to brake system   AH42.00-P-0003-01A
NOTES Brake fluid notes   AH42.50-P-0001-01A
1 Lift/jack up vehicle   AR00.60-P-1000G
2 Remove rear wheels    
3 Detach linkage from headlamp range adjustment level sensor on trailing arm IMPORTANT When removing spring on left side.  
4 Support rear axle and secure to prevent it from falling down    
5 Detach brake and hydraulic lines (4) from rear axle IMPORTANT Seal connections immediately with stop plugs.
NOTES The brake fluid expansion reservoir must not run empty. Otherwise difficulties may be encountered when bleeding. Dripping brake fluid causes paint damage.
 
SPECIAL TOOL Figure
6 Detach electrical lines (7) at brackets    
7 Unscrew nuts (1) from dampers (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA32.25-P-1001-03E 
8 Pull bolts out of dampers (2)    
9 Lower rear axle IMPORTANT Only lower rear axle far enough to enable the rear spring (3) to be removed.  
10 Remove rear spring (3) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Check plastic hose (6) on rear spring (3) for signs of damage and replace if necessary. Ensure rear spring (3) is seated correctly.  
11 Install in the reverse order    
12 Bleed brake system and check for proper operation and leaktightness   AR42.10-P-0010GW
13 Bleed differential lock hydraulic system   AR33.40-P-0701GW
