Stationary heater control unit, component description - GF83.70-P-4066FQ
MODEL 218 with CODE 228 (Auxiliary heater)
Location
The stationary heater control unit is integrated in the heater unit, which is located in the front section of the right wheel arch.
Task
The stationary heater control unit has the following tasks:
- Reading in of signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
Reading in of signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN (CAN B)
Direct line
The stationary heater control unit reads in the signals from the following components via direct lines:
- Stationary heater temperature sensor (A6b1)
- Stationary heater thermal fuse (A6f1)
- Stationary heater glow plug/flame monitor unit (A6r4)
- Stationary heater radio remote control receiver (A6/1)
If a temperature of T = 125 °C is exceeded in the heater unit, the stationary heater thermal fuse recognizes overheating via the stationary heater temperature sensor and switches the stationary heater off with subsequent overheating locking.
Interior CAN
The stationary heater control unit reads in the following signals via interior CAN:
- Fuel level, sent by the instrument cluster (A1)
- Crash signal, sent by the supplemental restraint system control unit (N2/10)
- Ventilation/heating request, sent by the automatic climate control and operating unit (N22/7)
- Circuit 15 status as sent by the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73)
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN
Direct line
The stationary heater control unit actuates the following components via direct lines:
- Stationary heater combustion air blower (A6m2)
- Stationary heater glow plug/flame monitor unit
- Stationary heater fuel preheater heating element (A6r5) (with diesel engine)
- Stationary heater fuel shutoff valve (A6y2) (with diesel engine)
- Stationary heater radio remote control receiver
- Stationary heater switchover valve (Y16)
- Stationary heater fuel pump (Y23)
Interior CAN
The stationary heater control unit sends the following signals via interior CAN:
- Request for actuating stationary heater status indication, to the upper control panel control unit (N72/1)
- Ventilate/heat inquiry, to the automatic climate control and operating unit (N22/7)
Variants
Engine variants:
- Gasoline engine
- Diesel engine
