	Remove/install
1.1	Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key from electronic ignition lock control unit	MODEL 218 without CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO)
1.2	Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key or KEYLESS-GO start/stop button from electronic ignition lock control unit	MODEL 218 with CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO)
2.1	Remove rear center console	MODEL 218.3
			AR68.20-P-2020EL
2.2	Remove rear air vent	MODEL 218.9
			AR83.10-P-4800EL
3	Unscrew nuts (2)
4	Disconnect electrical connectors (3)
5	Disconnect electrical connectors in rear area of front center console (1)	The number of electrical connectors depends on the vehicle equipment.
6	Disconnect electrical connection (4)	MODEL 218 up to model year 2015 with CODE 518 (Media interface)
7	Unclip retaining clips (5)
8	Remove air conditioning control and operating unit		AR83.40-P-6350EW
9	Remove radio or radio with Auto-Pilot-System or COMAND controller unit		AR82.60-P-7502EW
		Depending on vehicle equipment.
10	Disconnect electrical connector for AUX-socket (arrow) on electrical line (12) in radio mounting shaft	MODEL 218 up to model year 2015 without CODE 518 (Media interface)
11	Remove green 2-pin coupling on video line from green 2-pin coupling housing on COMAND control unit	MODEL 218 up to model year 2015 with CODE 512 (COMAND APS with DVD changer) with CODE 518 (Media interface) MODEL 218 up to model year 2015 with CODE 518 (Media interface) with CODE 527 (COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation))
12	Open cover (6)
13.1	Remove ashtray (7)	MODEL 218 with CODE 301 (Package SMOKER)
13.2	Remove insert (8)	MODEL 218 without CODE 301 (Package SMOKER)
14	Unscrew screw/bolt (9)
15	Remove bolts (10)
16	Pull front center console (1) toward out of instrument panel (11) and remove from vehicle	Ensure that electrical lines are routed correctly in area of front center console (1).
17	Install in the reverse order
