Remove/install additional fan for COMAND - AR82.85-P-0005EL

MODEL 218 up to 2/28/13 up to model year 2014

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install   
1 Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key  
2 Remove cover (1) below dashboard on left  
3 Unscrew bolt (2)  
4 Swivel air intake pipe (3) at bottom forward and remove INSTALLATION IMPORTANT
Ensure that air intake pipe (3) engages completely (arrow A) at COMAND fan motor (M4/13).
Otherwise air intake pipe (3) may detach and cause noises.
5 Remove air exhaust duct (4) from COMAND fan motor connection (M4/13)  
6 Pull air exhaust duct (4) out of connection (arrow B)  
7 Remove air exhaust duct (4) downward  
8 Remove screws/bolts (5) and remove steering column raise/lower adjustment motor (M20/2) until electric connector (6) is accessible Vehicles with code 275 (Memory package (driver's seat, steering column, mirrors))
9 Disconnect electric connector (6) and remove steering column raise/lower adjustment motor (M20/2) until shaft (7) is accessible Vehicles with code 275 (Memory package (driver's seat, steering column, mirrors))  
10 Guide shaft (7) out of steering column raise/lower adjustment motor (M20/2) and remove steering column raise/lower adjustment motor (M20/2) Vehicles with code 275 (Memory package (driver's seat, steering column, mirrors))
11 Unclip radio fan electrical connector (X120) at air conditioner housing (A32) and disconnect  
12 Remove screws/bolts (8) until COMAND fan motor (M4/13) detaches IMPORTANT Screws/bolts (8) remain on COMAND fan motor (M4/13).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace screws/bolts (8) as these are damaged during removal.
13 Remove COMAND fan motor (M4/13) from air conditioner housing (A32)  
14 Install in the reverse order
