On all vehicles without:
- Code 950 EVOLUTION AMG sport package
- Code 952 Sport package
- Code 486 MB sports suspension
- Code 489 All-round level control system
- Code 954 Avantgarde as of model refinement package 06.2006
for a conversion to 17 or 18 inch tires new stop rubbers must be fitted as jounce limitation.
Legal provisions
Before a conversion to 17 or 18 inch tires the following must be available:
- a corresponding expert's report on the parts (Federal Republic of Germany)
- national legislation must be taken into account (except Federal Republic of Germany).
Technical measures
- With standard suspension
- With code 485 Standard suspension instead of Avantgarde suspension
- With code 494 California version
- With code 482 Suspension with increased ground clearance
The standard production jounce buffers on the front axle must be replaced by other stop rubbers.
