Task
The Universal Cell phone Interface (UPCI [UHI]) control unit acts as a communication management platform and is connected to the UPCI [UHI] cell phone holder (Universal Cell phone Interface) (A34/15) via a shielded wiring harness.
The Universal Cell phone Interface (UPCI [UHI]) control unit is responsible for the following tasks:
- conversion of electric signals into optical signals for the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) and vice versa
- control of all user-oriented communication and service applications in the vehicle
- ensuring that different portable CTELs (A34/6) can be operated
- evaluation of signals from Bluetooth devices installed in the vehicle
