Remove/install COMAND APS hard disk - AR82.85-P-1001SX

1 Disconnect/connect battery ground line   AR54.10-P-0003SX
2 Remove/install cover for control and operating unit Model 216
with code 800 (Model year 2010)
except code 529 (HIGH Class Japan)

Remove/install cover for control and operating unit AR68.20-P-2314SC
3 Unclip cover (1) MODEL 221  
SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Figure
4 Unscrew bolt (2) MODEL 221  
5 Open cover frame (3) and fold up covers (4) of screws/bolts (5) inwards MODEL 221  
6 Remove screws/bolts (5) and close covers (4) MODEL 221  
7 Close cover frame (3) and remove MODEL 221  
8 Apply ESD service kit (9) between vehicle and mechanic as per instructions for potential equalization SPECIAL TOOL ESD kit Fig 4
9 Remove screw/bolts (6)    
10 Pull out hard drive (7) toward front INSTALLATION IMPORTANT The serial number of the new hard drive (8) must be documented in the field organization texts in VeDoc.

11 Install in the reverse order
