Separate B-pillar with side longitudinal member - AR63.20-P-0550-01SC

  1. Scribe separation line on panel (3) with metal needle template and cut (area A).

    IMPORTANT Observe sheet metal panels below; transfer dimension from new part.

  2. Expose spot welds on panel (3) and cut (areas B, C and D).
  3. Heat panel (3) in crosshatched areas with hot air gun and remove.

    IMPORTANT The panel (3) is bonded in the crosshatched areas.

  4. Expose spot welds on B-pillar (2) and cut out with BTR-Usibor milling cutter (areas E, G and H).
  5. Grind open rivet connection on B-pillar reinforcement (4) (area I).

  6. Heat B-pillar reinforcement (4) and B-pillar (2) in crosshatched areas with hot air gun and remove B-pillar (2).

    IMPORTANT Crosshatched areas are bonded.

  7. Scribe separation line on longitudinal member (1) with metal needle template and cut (area U).

    IMPORTANT Observe sheet metal below.

  8. Expose spot welds on longitudinal member (1) and cut out with BTR-Usibor milling cutter (areas O, S, T and V).

  9. Expose spot welds on longitudinal member (1) and cut out (areas P and Q).

    IMPORTANT Cut out area P from bottom.

  10. Expose spot welds on longitudinal member (1) and cut out with BTR-Usibor milling cutter (areas R, S and T).

  11. Drill out spot welds on inner longitudinal member with BTR-Usibor drill with Ø 6.7 mm (area W).

  12. Heat longitudinal member in crosshatched areas with hot air gun.

    IMPORTANT Crosshatched areas are foamed and bonded.

  13. Heat inner longitudinal member in crosshatched area with hot air gun.

    IMPORTANT Crosshatched area is bonded.

  14. Remove longitudinal member.

  15. Grind mating surfaces in crosshatched areas down to bare metal using round wire brush.

IMPORTANT Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.
