Remove side reinforcement - AR62.30-P-1401-01SX

IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown on model 221 on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Expose spot welds on side reinforcement (1) (areas A, B, C, D, E, F and G).
  2. Cut out spot welds on side reinforcement (1) with SPECIAL TOOL spot weld milling cutter or COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS ball cutter (areas B, D, E, F and G).
  3. Drill out dia. 5 mm spot welds (areas A and C).
  4. Pry open connection flange on body (arrow).
  5. Pry open connection flange on body (arrows).

    IMPORTANT Pry open connection flange to facilitate removal of side reinforcement (1).

  6. Remove damaged side reinforcement (1).

  7. Level resistance spot welds on upper front longitudinal member (2) and longitudinal member front section (3) in cross-hatched areas with COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS round wire brush or COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS abrasive disk.
  8. Remove grinding and drill shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
  9. Coat insides of spot welding flanges and riveted joints with zinc dust paint.
