Install and weld in wheelhouse - AR62.20-P-1200-17SX

IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown on model 221 on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Install front wheelhouse (1), fasten with straightening tool (2, 3 and 4) and fasten with COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS clamping pliers and COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS C-clamps.

  2. Drill dia. 6.5 mm rivet holes in front wheelhouse (1) (areas A, B, C, D and E).

  3. Drill dia. 6.5 mm rivet holes in front wheelhouse (1) (areas F, G, H, I and J).
  4. Drill dia. 6.5 mm rivet holes in front wheelhouse (1) (area K).

  5. Drill dia. 6.5 mm rivet holes in front wheelhouse (1) (areas L, M and N).
  6. Loosen front wheelhouse (1) from straightening tool (2, 3 and 4)
  7. Remove straightening tool (4) and front wheelhouse (1).
  8. Deburr rivet holes on both sides
  9. Coat insides of rivet connections not glued with zinc dust paint.
  10. Apply 2-component adhesive material in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

    IMPORTANT Refer to manufacturer specifications for adhesive curing and application times.

  11. Install front wheelhouse (1), fit with straightening tool (2, 3 and 4) and fasten with COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS clamping pliers and COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS manual temporary fastener.
  12. Weld In front wheelhouse (1) with POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas P, Q, R and U).
  13. Rivet front wheelhouse (1) with Polygrip flat/round head rivet, 6.4x14 dia. (areas D, E, L, M and O).

    IMPORTANT Blind rivet tool..

  14. Weld in front wheelhouse (1) with SHIELDED GAS PLUG WELD (area S).
  15. Grind MIG welds down flat on front wheelhouse (1) (area S).

  16. Weld in front wheelhouse (1) with POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas V, W and X).

  17. Rivet front wheelhouse (1) with Polygrip flat/round head rivet, 6.4x14 dia. (areas F, H and J).
  18. Weld in front wheelhouse (1) with SHIELDED GAS PLUG WELD (areas Y and Z).

    IMPORTANT Blind rivet tool.

  19. Weld in front wheelhouse (1) with SHIELDED GAS PLUG WELD (area AA).
  20. Rivet front wheelhouse (1) with Polygrip flat/round head rivet, 6.4X14 dia. (area A).

    IMPORTANT Blind rivet tool.

  21. Rivet front wheelhouse (1) with Polygrip flat/round head rivet, 6.4x14 dia. (areas B, C, G, I and N).

    IMPORTANT Blind rivet tool..

  22. Install sheet metal lug (1.1), fit and fasten with COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS manual temporary fastener and COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS clamping pliers.
  23. Rivet sheet metal lug (1.1) on front wheelhouse (1) with Polygrip flat/round head rivet, 6.4X14 dia. (area K).

    IMPORTANT Blind rivet tool

  24. Clean welds using COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS round wire brush.
  25. Remove grinding and drill shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
