TRANSMISSION 722.9 (except 722.930) in MODEL 204.0 as of model year 2009
TRANSMISSION 722.9 (except 722.930) in MODEL 204.2 as of model year 2009
TRANSMISSION 722.9 (except 722.930) in MODEL 204.3
TRANSMISSION 722.9 in MODEL 204.9
The transmission mode "M" is only available with code 950 (Sport package). Vehicles without Sport package do not have transmission mode "M". On these vehicles, the transmission mode "M" is replaced by the "Short-term M mode".
Location
The electronic selector lever module control unit is located under the center console between the two front seats.

Task
General
The electronic selector lever module control unit records the positions of the selector lever (non-contact) using inductive sensors.
The selector lever positions and touch shifts carried out are detected in a non-contact manner by means of optoelectronic switches. A photoelectric barrier is closed or interrupted each time the position of the selector lever is changed.
Basic functions
- Read in signals from the automatic transmission transmission mode button
- Communication of selector lever positions "P, R, N, D" and touch shifts "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7"
Shift lock function
- Park pawl
- Ignition lock lock
- Selector lever position "P" lock
- Shift lock override (Manual unlocking, selector lever position "P")
Flash programming
The electronic selector lever module control unit is flashable, i.e., the control unit's complete software can be exchanged (replaced).
The software required to program the control units is stored on the STAR DIAGNOSIS DAS Update DVD.
CAN data bus
The electronic selector lever module control unit is connected via the drive train CAN (CAN C) to the vehicle's CAN network, and exchanges data with other control units.
