Remove/install additional battery - AR54.10-P-0007CW

MODEL 204.0/2/3 with CODE (B03) ECO start/stop function

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of injury  caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or metal spatter due to short circuit. Risk of burn  injuries caused by short circuit. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or absorption of lead over the skin or orifices No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
Wear acid-resistant gloves and clothing and safety glasses with side guards.
Do not place any conductive objects on the battery and avoid any short circuit from battery positive to ground.
Only fill liquid battery electrolyte (diluted sulfuric acid) into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

1 Switch off all electrical consumers, switch off ignition and remove transmitter key (A8/1) from electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) NOTES All the electrical consumers must be switched off, otherwise they may be damaged when unclipping and clipping on the ground line (5).  
2.1 Open luggage compartment floor cover (1) On model 204.0/3  
2.2 Remove rear load compartment floor and intermediate bottom On model 204.2 AR68.80-P-5800CX
3.1 Unclip expansion clip (3) and remove covering from additional battery (2) On model 204.0/3

3.2 Detach spare wheel well trim far enough until the additional battery for the ECO start/stop function (G1/13) is accessible On model 204.2  
4 Remove bolt (4) and detach ground line (5) from additional battery for ECO start/stop function (G1/13) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA54.10-P-1004-01F 
5 Remove cover (6) from positive line (7)    
6 Using diode test lamp, check on-board electrical system for voltage between positive line (7) of ECO start/stop function additional battery (G1/13) and a suitable ground point IMPORTANT If the diode test lamp lights up, the on-board electrical system is still active because of a defect in the electrical system.
In this case the ground line of the on-board electrical system battery (G1) should be disconnected.

Disconnect/connect battery ground line
NOTES Cover positive line (7), there is a risk of short circuit!
IMPORTANT If there are faults in the on-board electrical system then they have to be rectified first.

7 Unscrew bolt (8) and remove positive line (7) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA54.10-P-1004-01F 
8 Unscrew nut (10) of bracket (11)    
9 Swivel bracket (11) upwards    
10 Remove additional battery for ECO start/stop function (G1/13) from battery holder    
11 Install in the reverse order
