Remove/Install Engine Hood Catch - Ar88.40-D-3200H

	Remove/install
	Risk of injury caused by fingers being pinched or crushed when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lids, liftgates or sliding roof	Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts.	AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1	Remove bolts (1)	Mark installation position of engine hood catch top section (2) on engine hood

2	Remove engine hood lock top section (2)	Replace sluggish engine hood top section (2) (do not grease or lubricate). Otherwise malfunction can occur.
3	Remove screws/bolts (3)	Mark installation position of engine hood catch bottom section (4) on upper crossmember front module.

4	Remove engine hood catch bottom section (4) with retaining plate.	Replace sluggish engine hood top section (4) (do not grease or lubricate). Otherwise malfunction can occur.
5	Unhook release cable (5) from engine hood catch lower section (4).
6	Install in the reverse order
	Checking
7	Check whether engine hood catch top section (2) and engine hood catch bottom section (4) locks properly, adjust if necessary	Close engine hood and pull upward with a slight jerk. Unlock engine hood and check whether safety hook arrests on upper crossmember front module.
