Cut Off Complete Corner Pillar Paneling Outer Upper Section - Ar64.30-D-5731-01H

IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown on model 906.6 on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Scribe separation lines on complete outer corner pillar paneling upper section (1) (areas A and B).

    IMPORTANT Scribe separation line along edge (area B).

  2. Scribe upper section of outer corner pillar paneling (1) at separating point (areas A and B).
  3. Expose spot welds on complete outer corner pillar paneling upper section (1) (areas C, D and E).
  4. Mill off spot welds on complete outer corner pillar paneling upper section (1) (areas C, D and E).
  5. Remove damaged complete outer corner pillar paneling upper section (1).

  6. Use chisel (3) to fold over remaining piece of upper section of complete outer corner pillar paneling (2.1) (area B).
  7. Cut remaining section of upper section of complete outer corner pillar paneling (2) at separation point (area G).
  8. Expose spot welds on remaining piece of complete outer corner pillar paneling upper section (2) (areas F and H).
  9. Mill off spot welds on remaining piece of complete outer corner pillar paneling upper section (2) (areas F and H).
  10. Remove remaining piece of complete outer corner pillar paneling upper section (2).

  11. Cut into remaining section of upper section of complete outer corner pillar paneling (areas I and J).
  12. Place connecting flange on vehicle (area K).
  13. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.

  14. Remove shavings and drill chips.
  15. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
