Risk Of Injury To Skin & Eyes Suffering Scalding From Contact With Hot Coolant Spray. Risk Of Poisoning From Swallowing Coolant. - As20.00-Z-0001-01A

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. 

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Potential risks 

Risk of injury 

When the engine is warm, the cooling system is pressurized. If the cooling system is opened suddenly, there is a risk of scalding from hot coolant which splashes out.

Risk of poisoning 

If coolant is swallowed, this can result in symptoms of poisoning such as headaches, dizziness, stomach ache, respiratory paralysis, unconsciousness, vomiting, caustic burns and cramps.
