- Scribe cut on crossmember (1) and cut (areas A).
Do not cut too deeply. Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
Dimension:
- Expose spot welds on locking (1) and cut out (area B).
- Remove section (1.1).

- Remove foam part (2).
- Scribe cut on locking lug (1.2) and cut (area C).
Do not cut too deeply. Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
- Scribe cut on crossmember and cut (area D).
Do not cut too deeply. Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
- Expose spot welds on locking lug (1.2) and cut out (areas E, F, G, H and J).
Cut out through two panel thicknesses (areas F and H).
- Remove section (1.3) and locking lug (1.2)

- Scribe cuts on locking lug (1.4) and cut (areas K and L).
Do not cut too deeply. Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
- Grind open weld seams on locking lug (1.4) (area M).
- Expose spot welds on locking lug (1.4) and cut out (areas N and O).
- Remove locking lug (1.4).
- Expose weld seams on section (1.5) and cut out (area P).
- Remove section (1.5).

- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the crosshatched areas.
Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove drilling chips/shavings.
- Coat inside of spot welding flanges with zinc dust paint.
