| 1 | Remove paneling (2) from Vario roof front section (3) | ||
| 2 | Release front locks (5) | ||
| 3 | Unscrew bolts (4) and remove left or right front lock (5) from vario roof front section (3) | Do not remove both front locks (5) simultaneously. Always ensure that an installed and adjusted front lock (5) remains on the vario roof front section (3). Otherwise adjustment of the front lock (5) is significantly more difficult. Do not kink hydraulic lines (12) Otherwise the hydraulic lines (12) can be damaged. Observe installation location of spacers (6). |

| 5 | Open emergency opening valve (7) and leave open | MODEL 172.4 Open emergency opening valve (7) max. 2 turns. Otherwise the Vario roof control hydraulic unit (A7/5) can be damaged. |
