Remove/install additional battery - AR54.10-P-0007W

MODEL 172 with CODE (B03) ECO start/stop function

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of injury  caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or metal spatter due to short circuit. Risk of poisoning caused by diluted sulfuric acid) or absorption of lead over the skin or orifices No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves and clothing and safety glasses with side guards.
Do not place any conductive objects on the battery and avoid any short circuit from short circuit. Risk of burn injuries caused by battery positive to ground.
Only fill liquid battery electrolyte (diluted swallowing battery electrolyte (contains sulfuric acid) into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

1 Move left front seat all the way forward and fold backrest forward    
2 Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key or KEYLESS-GO start/stop button from electronic ignition lock control unit IMPORTANT KEYLESS-GO start/stop button only with code (889) Keyless-Go.  
3 Remove luggage net (1)    
4 Fold up rear wall cover (2) until ECO start/stop function additional battery (G1/13) is accessible IMPORTANT Secure the rear wall cover (2) to prevent it from folding down.  
5 Unscrew nuts (3, arrow) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA54.10-P-1014-01C 
6 Remove brace (4)    
7 Remove additional battery cover (5)    
8 Remove bolt (6) and detach ground line (7) from ECO start/stop function additional battery (G1/13) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA54.10-P-1013-01C 
9 Using diode test lamp, check on-board electrical system for voltage between positive line (8) of ECO start/stop function additional battery (G1/13) and disconnected ground line (7) IMPORTANT If the diode test lamp lights up, the on-board electrical system is still active because of a defect in the electrical system.
In this case, disconnect the ground line of the on-board electrical system battery.
 
Disconnect/connect on-board electrical system battery ground line
NOTES Cover positive line (8), there is a risk of short circuit!
IMPORTANT The electrical system must be repaired once the required work has been completed.

10 Remove bolt (9) and detach positive line (8) from ECO start/stop function additional battery (G1/13) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA54.10-P-1013-01C 
11 Pull vent hose (10) off ECO start/stop function additional battery (G1/13) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Pay attention to routing of the vent hose (10) without kinks.  
12 Remove ECO start/stop function additional battery (G1/13) from rear wall    
13 Install in the reverse order
