Remove/install front axle brake caliper - AR42.10-P-0070MMI

	Remove
1	Remove brake linings (1)		AR42.10-P-1600MMI
2	Unscrew screw/bolt (2) and remove right front brake wear sensor electrical connector (S10/2x1) from brake caliper (3)	When removing brake caliper (3) on right side of vehicle.
		Bolt, brake wear sensor to brake caliper	*BA42.10-P-1002-10J
3	Remove brake hose (4)		AR42.10-P-0013V
		Seal the connections immediately using suitable stop plugs. This prevents damage from escaping brake fluid.
		Record plug	Figure
4	Unscrew screws/bolts (5) and remove brake caliper (3)	Bolt, brake caliper to steering knuckle	*BA42.10-P-1001-10J
	Check
5	Check condition of brake linings (1) and measure degree of wear
			AP42.10-P-4253A
		If necessary ↓ Replace brake linings (1)
			AR42.10-P-1600MMI
6	Check condition of brake disk (6) and measure degree of wear
			AP42.10-P-4258V
		If necessary ↓ Replace brake disks (6)
			AR42.10-P-0220MMI
7	Check brake caliper (3) and dust boots of brake pistons for leaktightness and damage	If damage is present ↓ Replace brake caliper (3)
	Install
8	Press back brake piston using resetting device	Resetting device With sluggish brake pistons ↓ Replace brake caliper (3)	Fig 2
	Clean
9	Clean contact surfaces of brake linings (1) on brake caliper (3)	Do not damage the brake piston dust boots. Do not use sharp-edged or pointed objects. Otherwise the brake caliper (3) must be replaced.
		Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
10	Install in the reverse order
	Check
	Risk of accident  when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work.	Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system.	AS42.50-Z-0002-01A
11	Depress brake pedal several times until brake linings (1) rest against brake disks (6)	Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.
12	Check fluid level in brake fluid reservoir, and correct if necessary
			AP42.10-P-4210V
13	Carry out brake test on the test stand
			AP42.00-P-4290BA
