installation:

- Telephone interface (A34/4) (with code 852 complete portable CTEL preinstallation on dome or
code 854 MB portable CTEL)
or
D2B telephone transmitter/receiver (A35/13) (with code 853 MB standard telephone)
or
TELE AID control unit (A35/8) (with code 855 TELE AID)
- Voice control system control unit
(code 813 Voice control system (VCS)) not listed, since it is not affected when retrofitting.
- Radio (A2) or COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3)
Component sequence following
installation (must be observed):
- Radio (A2) or COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3)
- Sound amplifier (A2/13)
- CD player with changer (A2/6)
- Telephone interface (A34/4) (with code 852 complete portable CTEL preinstallation on dome or
854 MB portable CTEL)
or
D2B telephone transmitter/receiver (A35/13) (with code 853 MB standard telephone)
or
TELE AID control unit (A35/8) (with code 855 TELE AID)
- Radio (A2) or COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3)
Fiber optical cables are given new consecutive numbers after installation of a new ring component (note direction of information flow).
- Disconnect sound amplifier connector housing (A2/13).
- Unlock connector housing and remove white (ws) insert from sound amplifier connector housing (A2/13).
- Insert new (M2) fiber optical cable module (new) with white (ws) insert into connector housing for sound amplifier (A2/13) and lock housing.
Observe special routing guidelines for fiber optic cables.
- Unlock new connector housing for CD player with changer (A2/6) and insert red insert (rt) from the new fiber optical cable module (M2) (new) into connector housing of CD player with changer (A2/6).
- Insert white (ws) insert of fiber optical cable module (M3) into CD player with changer connector housing (A2/6) and lock connector housing.
- Route fiber optical cable modules (M1, M2, M3 and M4) in vehicle as shown in figure and fasten individual fiber optical cable modules at the corresponding connector housings according to dimensions using insulating tape.
Insulation must end 50 mm in front of the connector housing. The fiber optic cable modules (M1, M3) should be routed below the control unit carrier (arrow).
- Reconnect connector housing on CD player with changer (A2/6) and sound amplifier (A2/13).
