REMOVING Removing     
NOTES Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   AH00.00-N-0001-01A
NOTES While working on the rear axle care must be taken to ensure that the surface of all aluminum components do not get any scratches, cracks and notches. Otherwise the service life of the parts will be affected    
IMPORTANT Always replace rear rubber mounts (1) in pairs    
IMPORTANT For removal, the following tools from the SPECIAL TOOL extraction and insertion tool are required:
SPECIAL TOOL thrust piece (01) 221 589 00 43 01,
SPECIAL TOOL spindle (05) 221 589 00 43 05 and
SPECIAL TOOL sleeve (011) 221 589 00 43 11

For removal, the following tool from the SPECIAL TOOL extraction tools is required:
SPECIAL TOOL support (02) 140 589 13 33 02

1 Secure vehicle on lifting platform   AR00.60-P-0100SX
2 Remove rear wheels.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Remove/install wheels   AP40.10-P-4050SX
3 Remove exhaust system as of flange connection   AR49.10-P-7100SX
4 Detach propeller shaft from rear axle center assembly (50)   AR41.10-P-0050-03SX
5 Remove covers of spring control arms    
6 Tension rear springs   AR32.20-P-0200-06MB
7 Prop up rear axle carrier (4) on rear axle center assembly (50) using transmission jack and transmission platform    
8 Mark the installation position of the respective rubber mount (1) at cutout (arrow)    
9 Remove bolts (1s) of rubber mounts (1)    
10 Lower the rear axle carrier (4)    
11 SPECIAL TOOL Attach thrust piece (01), SPECIAL TOOL support (02), spindle (05) and SPECIAL TOOL sleeve (011) with SPECIAL TOOL hollow cylinder (015) and SPECIAL TOOL retaining belt (012) to rubber mount (1) of rear axle carrier (4) SPECIAL TOOLIMPORTANT The SPECIAL TOOL retaining belt must be routed behind the SPECIAL TOOL thrust piece in order to prevent the SPECIAL TOOL hollow cylinder falling down when the rubber mount is pressed out.

12 SPECIAL TOOL Connect hand pump (014) using SPECIAL TOOL hydraulic hose (013) on SPECIAL TOOL hollow cylinder (015) SPECIAL TOOL Figure

13 Press rubber mount (1) out of rear axle carrier (4) IMPORTANT When pressing out the rubber mount the SPECIAL TOOL hollow cylinder (015) is supported in the SPECIAL TOOL retaining belt (012). Keep your distance!  
INSTALLING Install     
IMPORTANT For installation, the following tools from the SPECIAL TOOL extraction and insertion tools are required:
SPECIAL TOOL support (04) 221 589 00 43 04,
SPECIAL TOOL spindle (05) 221 589 00 43 05 and
SPECIAL TOOL sleeve (011) 221 589 00 43 11

For installation, the following tool from the SPECIAL TOOL insertion tools is required:
SPECIAL TOOL Thrust piece (03) 220 589 04 43 00 SPECIAL TOOL

14 Coat new rubber mounts (1) with rubber assembly fluid   *BR00.45-Z-1010-06A 
15 SPECIAL TOOL Attach thrust piece (03), SPECIAL TOOL support (04), SPECIAL TOOL spindle (05) and SPECIAL TOOL sleeve (011) with SPECIAL TOOL hollow cylinder (015) and SPECIAL TOOL retaining belt (012) to the rubber mount (1) of the rear axle carrier (4) SPECIAL TOOL Figure

16 Press rubber mount (1) into rear axle carrier (4)    
17 Raise rear axle carrier (4).    
18 Screw in bolts (1s) of rubber mounts (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA35.10-P-1002-01M 
19 Release tension of rear springs    
20 Install covers of spring control arms    
21 Mount propeller shaft onto rear axle center assembly (50)   AR41.10-P-0050-04SX
22 Install exhaust system as of flange connection   AR49.10-P-7100SX
23 Fit rear wheels    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Remove/install wheels   AP40.10-P-4050SX
24 Remove lifting platform safety device   AR00.60-P-0100SX
