Adjust center door - AR72.14-P-0015SXS

INSPECT Checking     
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being pinched or crushed  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lids, liftgates or sliding roof Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1 Check gaps around center door (1)   *BE60.00-P-1005-01R

  Adjust     
2 Remove striker wedge (2) at bottom of center door (1)    
3 Remove lock striker (4) IMPORTANT Mark installation position of lock striker (4), to facilitate reinstallation.  
4 Support center door (1) with floor jack and suitable block of wood, position below mounting location of striker wedge (2) NOTES Do not support center door (1) on outer paneling, otherwise, the center door (1) can be damaged by its high dead weight.

5 Loosen screws (5) on B1-pillar and adjust corresponding gap dimensions by moving center door (1) IMPORTANT Adjust gap dimensions at center door (1) by lifting or lowering floor jack. *BE60.00-P-1005-01R

6 Tighten bolts (5) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA72.14-P-1005-01B 
7 Loosen bolts (6) on center door (1) and adjust transition by moving center door (1) between front door and center door (1) IMPORTANT The contour of the front door (1) must be flush with the contour of the center door or project by a maximum of 1 mm.  
8 Tighten bolts (6), lower and remove floor jack TORQUE SPECIFICATION

9 Insert lock striker (4) and screw in bolts (3) up to stop IMPORTANT It should still be possible to adjust the lock striker (4).  
10 Adjust transition between center door (1) and rear door by moving locking eye (4). IMPORTANT The contour of the center door (1) must be flush with the contour of the rear door or project by a maximum of 1 mm.  
11 Tighten screw/bolts (3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA72.14-P-1007-01B 
12 Repair paint damage to screw heads with suitable touch-up paint pen    
13 Install striker wedge (2) IMPORTANT Only tighten bolts on striker wedge (2) hand-tight.  
14 Coat oval head screw (7) with grease Multipurpose grease *BR00.45-Z-1034-06A 
15 Carefully close and open center door (1) and determine on basis of grease impression on raised head screw (7), whether height of striker wedge (2) requires correction by inserting shims. If the front door (1) is hard to close or cannot be closed at all, correct the height of the striker wedge (2) by removing shims IMPORTANT The front door (1) is supported on the oval head screws (7) by the striker wedge (2) so that its entire dead weight is not on the lock striker (4). The front door (1) should be easy to close.  
16 Tighten bolts on striker wedge (2)
