	Removal
1	Connect quiescent current retention unit		*WH58.30-Z-1012-09A
	Risk of explosion caused by escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of injury caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or metal spatter due to short circuit. Risk of burn injuries caused by short circuit. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or absorption of lead over the skin or orifices	No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves and clothing and safety glasses with side guards. Do not place any conductive objects on the battery and avoid any short circuit from battery positive to ground. Only fill liquid battery electrolyte (diluted sulfuric acid) into suitable and appropriately marked containers.
2	Disconnect ground cable of battery

3.1	Remove radio

3.2	Removing and installing operating/display unit with control module	with COMAND (code 352a) operating and display system

4	Remove floor covering in rear

5.1	Open right front and rear cable ducts
5.2	Open front left and rear cable ducts
6	Remove armrest with console	Remove storage box with hinges (to be replaced by a new storage box with handset mounting).
7	Remove front left and right seats

8	Remove and install SAM control module with fuse and relay box, front left	No removal, only remove far enough, so that an additional cable can be pulled through from driver's footwell and connected to fuse and relay box.

9	Remove rear seat and rear backrest
		Remove rear seat backrest.
		Remove rear seat backrest with single seats (code 401).
10	Remove seat adjuster	with single seats (code 401).

11	Remove paneling on C-pillar
12	Separate equipment plate below right rear seat
13	Remove right and left-hand trunk lining

	Installing
14	Retrofit fiber optic cable wiring harness		AN82.70-P-0002-01AM
	Covering fiber optic cable	Do not kink or stretch D2B fiber optic cable. Install cover caps on fiber optic cable connector and equipment connection.	AR82.95-P-0005-01A
15	Retrofit telephone cable harness	Voltage supply wiring harness	AN82.70-P-0002-03MMM
16	Install CTEL D2B transceiver unit

17	Retrofit telephone/GPS antenna	Only if necessary.	AZ82.70-P-0001-08IA
18	Install handset	Install new tray with handset.

19	Retrofit hands-free system microphone	Only if necessary.	AN82.70-P-8969-04MA
20	Fit remaining parts to vehicle
21	Carry out commissioning and operational check	Carry out control unit coding (CTEL) using STAR diagnosis
