Retrofit cell phone - AN82.70-P-0002MA

IMPORTANT Notes on fiber optic    
REMOVING Removal     
1 Remove rear passenger compartment floor covering    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR      
2.1 Remove radio    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR      
2.2 Remove/install operating, display and control module with COMAND (code 352a) operating and display system  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR      
3 Connect quiescent current retention device   *WH58.30-Z-1012-09A 
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of injury  caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or metal spatter due to short circuit. Risk of burn injuries  caused by short circuit. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or absorption of lead over the skin or orifices No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves and clothing and safety glasses with side guards.
Do not place any conductive objects on the battery and avoid any short circuit from battery positive to ground.
Only fill liquid battery electrolyte (diluted sulfuric acid) into suitable and appropriately marked containers.		  
4 Disconnect ground cable of battery

NOTES Battery notes All types.  
5.1 Open right wiring duct    
5.2 Open left wiring duct with sound system (code 810)  
6 Remove rear backrest    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR      
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   with single seats (code 401).  
7.1 Remove seat adjustment mechanism on rear seat with single seats (code 401).  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR      
8 Remove coverings in trunk    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR      
9 Remove rear wall in trunk    
10 Remove/install SAM with fuse and relay box, left front IMPORTANT Do not remove completely, only do so far enough to enable an additional cable to be pulled through from driver's footwell and connected to fuse and relay box.

11 Remove molding on rear window    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR      
INSTALLING Install     
12 Install optical waveguide module    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR82.70-P-0004-01A
13.1 Retrofit fiber optic wiring harness except code 810, code 819. AN82.70-P-0002-01MA
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Cover optical waveguide NOTESDo not kink or stretch D2B fiber optic. 
IMPORTANT Install covers on fiber-optic coupling and equipment connector.		 AR82.95-P-0005-01A
13.2 Retrofit fiber optic wiring harness With code 810, code 819 AN82.70-P-0002-01MB

14 Retrofit telephone cable harness IMPORTANT Voltage supply wiring harness AN82.70-P-0002-03MA

20 Perform startup and function check IMPORTANT Carry out control unit coding (CTEL) using STAR diagnosis  
21 when scope of equipment changes reenter code or designation of corresponding special equipment on vehicle card
