MODEL 221.1 with CODE (Z07) Top protection up to Model Year 08 Gefahrdeten-Alarm-System (GAS), Special Signaling System 

Location 

The PAS [GAS] and special signal system control unit is located under the left trim in the luggage compartment, on the partition wall between the passenger- and luggage compartment.

Function 

The PAS [GAS] and special signal system control unit actuates the following systems depending on the vehicle equipment:

• Panic alarm system (PAS)
• Intercom system
• Special signal system

The request to the standard components are forwarded over the special vehicle multifunction control unit (SVMCU [MSS]) (N26/14). The PAS [GAS] and special signal system control unit is connected over the special vehicle multifunction control unit (SVMCU [MSS]) with the interior CAN for data exchange.

The following requests are transmitted over the special vehicle multifunction control unit (SVMCU [MSS]): 

• Optical alarm signal (light actuators)
• Make emergency call over two-way radio (optional)
• Automatic locking of doors and fuel filler flap
• Automatic actuation of recirculated air function
