Acceleration sensor, component description - GF32.31-P-5106SX
MODEL 221 with CODE (489) Airmatic (semi-active air suspension) up to Model Year 8
The right front body lateral acceleration sensor and left front body lateral acceleration sensor are mounted on the damper tower respectively.
The right rear body lateral acceleration sensor is mounted under the rear shelf.
The three acceleration sensors serve to measure the vertical accelerations of the vehicle body.
Evaluation of the measured data from the acceleration sensors enables the vertical speed of the vehicle body to be determined.
By evaluating the signals from the traction system hydraulic unit (A7/3), brake applications can be detected by the AIRmatic with ADS control unit (N51) and the resultant pitch motions of the vehicle can be suppressed in good time by a suitable damper setting.
Via the chassis CAN signal from the ME control unit (N3/10) the pitch motions of the vehicle, in the acceleration phase, are likewise detected by the AIRmatic with ADS control unit and suppressed by timely damping adjustment.
