- Do not empty the components or the entire system by unscrewing pressure lines. Release pressure in the AIRmatic system using the diagnostic system only.
- Clean the area around the pressure line connections before beginning repair work. Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents.
- Always seal open pressure lines and connections.
- Only use flare nut wrenches or special tools to unscrew the pressure lines.
- Do not fill suspension struts that have been removed or that are not securely bolted (10, 11, 12, 13) with compressed air or slide them together.
- Do not twist suspension struts (10, 11, 12, 13). This leads to fold formation in the air spring.
- Observe the filling process when filling the suspension struts (10, 11, 12, 13).
- Between installing the suspension struts (10, 11, 12, 13) and filling the system, the suspension struts (10, 11, 12, 13) must not be loaded (no spring movement).
- Before driving the vehicle through washing systems, over workpits and onto lifting platforms or on roads with uneven surfaces, set the push button switch for vehicle level to "raised vehicle level".
- Move the steering to the straight-ahead position if the vehicle is to remain unused for a long period of time. Pressure loss during extended idle time leads to lowering of the body.
- Refer to the leaflet of the new suspension struts (10, 11, 12, 13) and note the expiration date.
