Remove/install window in center door - AR72.14-P-0150SXS

MODEL 221.176 with CODE (Z07) Top protection with CODE (Z19) S600 Pullman Guard state sedan

REMOVING Removing     
DANGER Risk of injury caused by hands or feet being pinched or crushed when working on windshield or windows Secure windows against dropping; use only specified lifting tools; wear safety shoes. AS67.00-Z-0003-01A
NOTES Notes on avoiding damage to windows installed in special high-security vehicles   AH67.00-P-0003-01FB
1 Remove waistline trim strip (2) from center door (1) IMPORTANT Lift waistline trim strip (2) from rear, then lift toward front piece by piece  
SPECIAL TOOL
IMPORTANT The waistline trim strip (2) is glued to the center door (1) and the window (6) and is damaged when removed. For this reason always replace waistline trim strip (2).

2 Remove B-joint seal (3) from front trim strip (4)    
3 Carefully loosen front trim (4) and rear trim (5) along rubber seal (arrows).    
4 Remove front trim (4) and rear trim (5) starting at top downward from center door (1). IMPORTANT The front trim (4) and rear trim (5) are glued to the center door (1) and damaged when removed. For this reason always replace front trim (4) and rear trim (5).  
5 Carefully loosen rubber seal (arrows) from window (6). IMPORTANT The rubber seal (arrows) is glued to the window (6). If the rubber seal (arrows) should be damaged, replace.  
6 Cut leather coating on window frame (8) in area of bolts (9) in cross pattern    
7 Lift cut leather coating on window frame (8) out of center door (1). NOTES Carefully loosen leather from window frame to prevent damaging leather.  
8 Secure window (6) against falling down with clamping pliers SPECIAL TOOL Figure
9 Remove bolts (10)    
10 Remove inside door handle (11) from inner door panel (14).    
11 Unhook release cable (12) from inside door handle (11)    
12 Remove bolts (13)    
13 Remove inner door panel (14) from center door (1) IMPORTANT Guide release cable (12) through inner door panel (14).  
14 Detach door foil from center door (1) NOTES Carefully cut butyl cord between door foil and center door (1). Carefully detach door foil. Otherwise paint can be damaged.  
15 Unscrew bolts (15) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA72.14-P-1001-01B 
16 Remove lock cover guard plate (16) IMPORTANT Unhook release cable (12) from door lock (18).  
17 Remove bolts (17) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA72.14-P-1002-01B 
18 Remove door lock (18)    
19 Fasten nuts (19) to adjustment screws (20) with adhesive tape IMPORTANT This secures the nuts (19) against twisting on the adjustment screws (20).  
20 Completely turn nuts (21) upward    
21 Remove bolts (9) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA72.14-P-1003-01B 
22 Remove rear glass channel guard plate (23) and front glass channel guard plate (24) downward from center door (1).    
23 Remove clamping pliers IMPORTANT Remove clamping pliers only when window (6) is secured against falling down by two helpers

24 Lower window (6) down to console (22) IMPORTANT To lower the window (6) at least helpers are required.  
25 Remove window (6) toward outside from center door (1) IMPORTANT To remove window (6) at least two helpers are required.  
26 Cut off remaining adhesive from consoles (7) with suitable scraper    
27 Repair paint damage on consoles (7) with primer stick   *BR00.45-Z-1012-07A 
INSTALLING Install     
28 Insert window (6) from outside into center door (1) and set down on console (21) IMPORTANT To install window (6) at least two helpers are required.  
29 Completely move window (6) upward into window frame IMPORTANT Aid of 2 helpers required.  
30 Secure window (6) against falling down with clamping pliers SPECIAL TOOL Figure
31 Install rear glass channel guard plate (23) and front glass channel guard plate (24) from bottom in center door (1).    
32 Screw in bolts (9) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA72.14-P-1003-01B 
33 Slide adjustment screws (20) upward until nuts (19) and consoles (22) make contact IMPORTANT The adjustment screws (20) should make contact with plates (25). If this is not the case, adjust adjustment screws (20) accordingly.  
34 Tighten nuts (21) on adjustment screws (20)    
35 Remove clamping pliers SPECIAL TOOL Figure
36 Check sealing strip o door lock (18) for damage, replace if necessary. IMPORTANT If sections of the sealing strip are damaged, replace only the damaged section. Lay new sealing strip parallel to damaged sealing strip on door lock. Previously clean bonding surface.

37 Install door lock (18).    
38 Screw in bolts (17) IMPORTANT Use Loctite thread locking agent.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA72.14-P-1002-01B 
Loctite 243 *BR00.45-Z-1066-01A 
39 Insert lock cover guard plate (16) IMPORTANT Hook release cable (12) into door lock (18)  
40 Screw in bolts (15) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA72.14-P-1001-01B 
41 Check door foil for damage, replace if necessary IMPORTANT When replacing door foil, remove butyl cord residues from inner door panel and clean bonding surface  
Cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1025-04A 
42 Inspect butyl cords for damages, replace if necessary IMPORTANT If sections of the butyl cord are damaged, replace only the damaged section. Route new butyl cord parallel to the damaged butyl cord on the door foil. Previously clean bonding surface.  
Sealing cord *BR00.45-Z-1086-01A 
Cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1025-04A 
43 Align door foil on center door (1) and roll on IMPORTANT Ensure that door foil is correctly positioned on center (1).

44 Install inner door panel (14) on center door (1) IMPORTANT Guide release cable (12) through inner door panel (14).  
45 Screw in bolts (13)    
46 Hook release cable (12) into inside door handle (11)    
47 Install inside door handle (11) on inner door panel (14)    
48 Screw in bolts (10)    
49 Glue cut window frame leather coating (8) to center door Universal adhesive *BR00.45-Z-1003-02A 
50 Clean new front trim (4) and new rear front trim (5) at rear. NOTES The bonding areas on the front trim (4) and rear trim (5) must be free of dust and grease to prevent adhesion problems when bonding in.

51 Prepare adhesive cartridge SPECIAL TOOL Intermediate piece

52 Apply adhesive to consoles (7) NOTES Install front trim (4) and rear trim (5) on consoles (7) within 10 minutes after applying adhesive material, otherwise the adhesive force of the glue starts to decrease.

53 Install front trim (4) and rear trim (5) on center door (1) NOTES Do not perform any actions for approx. 2 h during the curing time for the adhesive, because this can change the installation position of the front trim (4) and rear trim (5)
IMPORTANT Align front trim (4) and rear trim (5)
IMPORTANT Fix front trim (4) and rear trim (5) in place with adhesive strips.
 
54 Install B-joint seal (3) on front trim (4)    
55 Bond front trim (4) and rear trim (5) to rubber seal (arrows) IMPORTANT Carefully remove exiting adhesive.

56 Apply adhesive to beltline on center door (1) Terostat MS 930 black *BR00.45-Z-1140-02A 
57 Install waistline trim strip (2) on center door (1)    
58 Glue rubber seal to waistline trim strip (2) with window (6) IMPORTANT Carefully remove exiting adhesive.

Pure benzine/benzine 100/140 (free of aromatic compounds), 5-liter metal canister, article no.: 17042 *BR00.45-Z-1048-04A 
59 Glue rubber seal (arrows) to window (6) IMPORTANT Carefully remove exiting adhesive.
