MODIFICATION NOTES

16.4.07 Repair method for removing standing lights and parking lights modified    
Figure item, etc.  Work instructions     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by high voltage levels present at xenon headlamps.
Risk of explosion/fire hazard  due to highly flammable substances in the area of damaged xenon bulbs
Risk of injury  due to UV light, hot components on xenon headlamps and glass splinters when xenon bulbs burst
Risk of poisoning  caused by inhalation of mercury vapors and by toxic salts and mercury compounds being ingested or coming into contact with skin
Do not come into contact with parts that are under high voltage. Persons with active electronic implants  (e.g. heart pacemakers) must never work on xenon headlamps. Switch off entire lighting system. Wear insulated safety shoes, safety glasses and protective gloves. Remove highly inflammable materials from the hazard area. Ensure sufficient ventilation in the working area. AS82.10-Z-0001-01A
NOTES Do not touch the glass bulb elements of the bulbs with fingers, but use a soft cloth free of oil and grease; otherwise the bulbs can be damaged by overheating during operation    
NOTES Switch off the exterior lights prior to making a bulb replacement in order to avoid a short circuit    
IMPORTANT Switch off ignition and withdraw transmitter key or Keyless Go start/stop button from the EIS [EZS] control unit Keyless Go start/stop button only on vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go.  
IMPORTANT Remove/install lamp unit When replacing left turn signal light (E1e5) or right turn signal light (E2e5). AR82.10-P-4730SX 
IMPORTANT Remove/install fender liner front section on front fender When changing left standing and parking lamp (E1e3) or right standing and parking lamp (E2e3).  
IMPORTANT Unfasten/fasten expansion reservoir with lines connected When exchanging right low beam (E2e2) or right bi-xenon lamp with integral ignition module (E2e10).  
IMPORTANT Unfasten/fasten windshield washer system washer fluid reservoir On vehicles without code (487) Active Body Control (ABC) to exchange left low beam (E1e2) or left bi-xenon lamp with integral ignition module (E1e10). AR82.35-P-6000-01SX
IMPORTANT Remove/install washer fluid reservoir top section from windshield washer system On vehicles with code (487) Active Body Control (ABC) to exchange left low beam (E1e2) or left bi-xenon lamp with integral ignition module (E1e10).

Remove/install washer fluid reservoir of windshield washer system AR82.35-P-6000SY 
E1e1, E2e1 Left high beam, right high beam IMPORTANT Detach housing cover (4), twist high beam socket (14) or high beam socket (13) to the left and remove.
Pull left high beam (E1e1) or right high beam (E2e1) out of high beam socket (14) or out of high beam socket (13).
 
E1e2, E2e2 Left low beam, right low beam On vehicles without code (615) Bi-xenon headlamp unit with integrated curve illumination.
IMPORTANT Detach housing cover (3), twist low beam socket (7) to the left and remove.
Pull left low beam (E1e2) or right low beam (E2e2) out of low beam socket (7).
 
E1e3, E2e3 Left standing and parking lamp, right standing and parking lamp IMPORTANT Twist socket for standing and parking lamp (10) to left and remove.
Remove left standing and parking lamp (E1e3) or right standing and parking lamp (E2e3) from standing and parking lamp socket (10).
 
E1e5, E2e5 Left turn signal lamp, right turn signal lamp IMPORTANT Remove screws (2) on housing cover (1) and remove housing cover (1).
Remove left turn signal lamp (E1e5) from left front lamp unit (E1) or right turn signal lamp (E2e5) from the right front lamp unit (E2).
 
E1e9, E2e9 Cornering illumination On vehicles with code (615) Bi-xenon headlamp unit with integrated curve illumination.
IMPORTANT Detach housing cover (5), twist cornering illumination socket (6) to the left and remove. Pull cornering illumination (E1e9) or cornering illumination (E2e9) out of cornering illumination socket (6).
 
E1e10, E2e10 Left bi-xenon lamp with integral ignition module, right bi-xenon lamp with integral ignition module On vehicles with code (615) Bi-xenon headlamp unit with integrated curve illumination.
IMPORTANT Remove housing cover (3), undo mounting clamp (8), pull out left bi-xenon lamp with integral ignition module (E1e10) or right bi-xenon lamp with integral ignition module (E2e10) and detach electrical connector (9).
 
E1e11, E2e11 Left infrared lamp, right infrared lamp On vehicles with code (610) Night View Assist.
IMPORTANT Detach housing cover (4), unplug electrical connector (11), twist infrared lamp socket (12) to the left and remove.
Pull left infrared lamp (E1e11) or right infrared lamp (E2e11) out of infrared lamp socket (12).
