Remove/install front axle valve body - AR32.50-P-0001SX

MODEL 216, 221.0/1 with CODE (487) Active Body Control (ABC)

	Remove/install
	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
	Risk of injury  to skin or eyes caused by hydraulic fluid spraying out under high pressure. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing hydraulic fluid	Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.	AS00.00-Z-0013-01A
	Notes on fitting hydraulic lines and hoses		AH32.50-P-0001-02A
	Before opening the hydraulic system, thoroughly clean the area surrounding the separation point. Even the smallest dirt particles, introduced into the hydraulic components, can lead to malfunctions and a total failure of the hydraulic system

1	Detach the front sections of the lower engine compartment paneling		AR61.20-P-1105SX
2	Relieve pressure in front axle ABC system		AR32.50-P-0001-01N
3	Remove fender liner in the front left fender
4	Remove bolts (2) and remove hydraulic lines (3)	Ensure that no dirt gets into the opened hydraulic lines (3) as this can lead to the failure of the ABC system. Check sealing rings for damage and replace if necessary. Check support rings for damage and replace the complete hydraulic line (3) if necessary.

5	Seal hydraulic lines (3) and openings in the valve unit (Y36/1) with stop plug		Fig 2
6	Unscrew nuts (1) and remove valve unit (Y36/1) downwards	Only remove the valve unit (Y36/1) until the electrical connectors (4) are accessible.

7	Disconnect electrical connectors (4) and remove valve unit (Y36/1)	The connectors and connections on the valve unit (Y36/1) are color coded and must not be swapped.
8	Install in the reverse order
9	Replace stop plugs in the valve unit (Y36/1) which has been removed by caps	When replacing the valve unit (Y36/1) Caps are supplied with new part.
10	Fill and bleed ABC system		AR32.50-P-0021SX
11	Carry out plunger travel calibration using STAR DIAGNOSIS	When replacing the valve unit (Y36/1)	AD00.00-P-2000-04A
