Remove/Install Additional Battery - AR54.10-P-0007GQA

  Risk of death  when touching components on vehicles with high-voltage on-board electrical system Do not touch damaged or defective components and open lines of the high-voltage on-board electrical system. Persons who wear electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers) must not  carry out any work on high-voltage on-board electrical systems. AS54.00-Z-0001-01A 
  Risk of explosion  from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Switch off ignition and keep transmitter key at a location beyond transmitter range (at least 2 m)    
2 Remove right side of panel in trunk   AR68.30-P-4800GQ
3 Remove bolt (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, battery cable to battery terminal for additional battery *BA54.10-P-1013-01C 
4 Detach ground line from additional battery for ECO start/stop function (G1/13)    
5 Connect diode test lamp between positive line of additional battery for ECO start/stop function (G1/13) and suitable ground point to check on-board electrical system for voltage. If the diode test lamp lights up, the on-board electrical system is still active because of a defect in the electrical system. In this case:

Detach ground line from on-board electrical system battery.

6 Unscrew bolt (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, battery cable to battery terminal for additional battery *BA54.10-P-1013-01C 
7 Detach positive line    
8 Pull out bleed hose (3)    
9 Remove bolt (4) from bracket (5)    
10 Swivel bracket (5) upwards INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that lugs (arrows) are seated correctly.  
11 Remove additional battery for ECO start/stop function (G1/13) from the battery carrier    
12 Install in the reverse order
